Bike-Curious Experience Program
Working towards fair access to bike riding and good times on the streets for everyone, BIKE-CURIOUS offers fun, creative workshops which invite girls and women to share their thoughts about riding, explore their experiences, and support each other to take action to change things for themselves and their friends.
Bassendean Green Trail Case Study
A series of community, stakeholder, and path user interviews and production of a multimedia case study of a pilot ‘green route’ connecting Success Hill and Bassendean sections of the Perth to Midland Principle Shared Path.
We discovered there was “strong [community] support for native planting along active transport routes to create shade, amenity and habitat.” (DoT 2023 p3), with an appreciation of health benefits and unanimous support for similar greening of routes.
The clear results and recommendations can inform design and community involvement in future green trails along walking and cycle routes, making them more accessible for all kinds of people to use.
Mobility Stories Participatory Platform
Mobility Stories amplifies the voices of people under-represented in discourse about walking, cycling, and wheeling, presenting their ideas to make moving around cities healthier, safer, fairer, more social, and more joyful.
Almost everyone could share in the multitude of benefits and the dignified independence that active modes of movement offer if we listened to what they need. From their unique perspectives, ordinary people trying to get around can provide valuable insights into how to make things better and create more accessible cities for everyone.
